Calling all business owners! Get the answers to all your business questions on Friday 26th February

FSB mummyblogger Twitter chat
As a business owner, I’m very much self-taught. I’ve not had any particular training, I muddle through as best I can, and there are a lot of things I don’t really know the answer to.

Some of the questions that I’ve asked myself over the years include things like:

  • Do I need a separate business account?
  • How do I fill in a tax return?
  • Do these chocolate digestives count as a business expense if I am eating them in my office?
  • Should I have a health and safety policy?
  • How did my life turn out like this?

Fairly standard I think.

I’m pretty sure a lot of business owners are in the same position, which is why I’m teaming up with the Federation of Small Businesses on Friday 26th February at 1pm, to host a Twitter chat.

This sounds like a lovely way to spend my Friday lunch break, how do I get involved?

To take part, all you have to do is come and join me, @mummyblogger, and @FSB_Voice between 1pm and 2pm on Twitter, on Friday 26th February, and use the hashtag #FSBchat. You can ask questions, share dilemmas, watch the conversation, and help with other people’s issues if you have pearls of wisdom to share.

I’d also really love it if you wanted to leave a comment on this post now, with any questions you might have about running a business, which we can then answer for you on the 26th. No question is too silly. (As you will have seen from my own list.)

Finally, to help spread the word and support as many businesses as possible, I’d be really grateful if you could retweet this tweet, which contains all the information about the event.

Thank you, and I hope to see you at the chat!

Argh I missed it! Hope it was a great chat. I think there are SO many questions that come up with running a small business or being freelance. I’ve been self employed for 5 years now and I’m still learning new things about it every day. x

Ooh, this looks good! I’d love to find out more about business banking – do I need a separate business account if I’m a sole trader? What are the pros and cons?

I know that pensions and auto enrolment is a big issue at the moment, but I find it all a bit daunting. Is that something the FSB can help with??
