For the last couple of years now I have been an official blogging ambassador for the Tesco Mum of the Year Awards, and I’m very honoured to have been asked to be involved again with the 2015 awards, their 10th anniversary.
The Tesco Mum of the Year Awards are about recognising and celebrating those mums who have gone the extra mile in supporting their families, communities and causes close to their heart. We’re not talking here about simply going to the effort to bake something homemade for the summer fair rather than buying something at Waitrose and roughing it up a bit around the edges, this is about amazing women doing truly amazing things.
Remember Jane Plumb, last year’s Campaigning Mum of the Year? Jane’s newborn son Theo died 17 years ago, and since then Jane has been campaigning tirelessly to raise awareness of Group B Strep and prevent other parents having to suffer the same tragic loss. Jane is just one of thousands of women achieving incredible things, and these awards are your chance to nominate the mums you think deserve recognition.
Over the years there have been over 80 winners and not only does each mum get the opportunity to raise the profile of her charity or cause, but she also gets the opportunity to be spoilt – something a lot of these women don’t normally have the time for. Last year’s winners were awarded all sorts of lovely prizes, including a two night stay at The Savoy.
If you know a mum who does extraordinary things to change the lives of others please nominate her now.
Nominations close on September 5th so hurry and make yours now and show that special mum just how amazing they are.
