A post about shoes from Bee…
I opened the box, my hands trembling. There they were. The most gorgeous shoes I had ever seen. I stared at them for a while, taking in their beauty, memorising them. They caught me looking and I turned my head away blushing.
I carefully put them on and they fitted me perfectly, just like I knew they would. I stood up and looked in the mirror. We looked great together, like we were made for each other.
I walked into the kitchen to introduce the new shoes to my flat mates. “Oh my god, I love your shoes,” one of them said.
“Yeah, they’re really nice,” the others agreed. I couldn’t help but beam with pride. Things were really looking up for me.
I walked outside, a slight skip in my step, keeping my eyes on the shoes as we walked. I loved the way people stared at the shoes and then at me. ‘Yes, they’re mine, deal with it’, I wanted to say. We stayed together all day, completely inseparable.
“I’m so jealous,” said one of my friends that evening, “I wish I could have shoes like that.” She then turned to her boyfriend. “You could never give me shoes like that could you?”
“No”, he admitted, “I can’t compete with those.”
That night I couldn’t sleep. I lay awake staring at the shoes lying on the floor next to me. I reached out to stroke them and then slapped my own hand away. ‘No Bee,’ I thought to myself, ‘have some self control.’
The sparkly laces and rainbow coloured stars are just what I’ve been looking for in a pair of shoes. The secret wedges in the heels make me look taller, giving me new found confidence. These shoes make me feel beautiful and I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have them. They’re comfy but at the same time stylish, great for lazy days walking around town or partying the night away.
