Competition – Win a new pair of Vivobarefoot shoes from Soul of Africa

How would you feel if buying yourself a pair of new shoes could make a positive difference to someone else’s life? It would be ideal wouldn’t it? ‘Oh, these new shoes darling? They’re just me supporting children and families in Africa. You know I like to do my bit.’

Well, that’s what Soul of Africa is all about. Have a watch of this short video to find out more:

Not only will you be doing your bit to support a good cause, but your feet will be super comfy too. Soul of Africa’s shoes are made using ‘Vivobarefoot’ technology, which means they are designed to recreate as much as possible to action of walking with bare feet – soles are ultra-thin and flat and the shoe is shaped to allow the foot room to expand and contract naturally with every step.

I’ve been wearing a pair of the Daisy shoes for the last week and can confirm that they are ACE. I normally really struggle with shoes, especially with width across the front as I have big heffalump feet, but these are fantastically comfortable.

They look lovely too.

What do I look for? That they are more comfortable than not wearing shoes at all.

Apart from Birkenstocks, I am still looking…I have high hopes!

I look for comfort every time. It was not always thus. Age, small children to run around after and the beginnings of a bunion mean that comfort wins the day, every time!! Plus I have mega wide large clodhopper type feet!

    20 June, 2016 / 9:21 pm

I look for comfort above all else, followed by durability and style. I know for a fact the Soul of Africa shoes fit the bill in all of those categories! I will never forget the first time I tried on a pair – it was a number of years ago in Durban and I was instantly in love with these beautiful, comfortable, well designed shoes! I still don’t own a pair, because sadly they have not fitted into my budget as yet; but the day that they do I will scoop them up with a smile on my face. And what will make that day all the more pleasurable is that I will now that my purchase has made a difference in someone’s life, because Soul of Africa gives back to the people.

I would so love to win a pair to love until I can afford to buy a pair.

    21 June, 2016 / 11:29 am

For me, shoes have to be comfortable! Personally, I hate spending a day with shoes pinching my feet!

  79. Isabel O
    21 June, 2016 / 11:42 am

I look for comfort. I really prefer whenever possible to walk around in bare feet! At home, in the garden, my family thinks it’s odd but I just hate having things on my feet. So when I have to wear shoes I look for something comfy that isn’t too constricting. I have fairly wide size 6-7 feet so this can be a hard thing to find especially if I’m looking for a ‘fashion’ shoe for a particular sort of outfit.

  80. Rachel Craig
    21 June, 2016 / 11:50 am

I’ve never been able to walk in heels and I like to be able to run around, in comfort, so I don’t think I’m going to train myself into skyscraper heels anytime soon!

My perfect shoes need to be flat so I can safely chase escaping children/buses I’m slightly late for/scooters with minds of their own/drive around until everyone naps. They need to be flexible enough to help me teach tiny people to balance and climb. They need to be comfortable enough to feel like I’m barefoot at home when I’m actually dashing about town. Finally if they could look stylish too that would really feel like the moon on a stick!

When it comes to shoes, I am extremely picky. Of course, I always want the super cute shoes, but I’ve fallen in the trap of buying the ones that look good, but don’t feel so great–then they end up just sitting there in my closet. My ideal, “dream” shoes would be both cute and very comfortable, but I also would like to feel good about them–knowing that they are made ethically. I try not to support brands with a sketchy history as far as their treatment of employees or the environment. This also makes me want to make sure that they are going to be well-made, so that I can keep them for a longer amount of time, creating less waste. So, I guess that means my idea shoes would be cute, comfy, ethically sourced and well-made so that I may enjoy them for a long time! :)

First of all comfort and then the colour and style. When I was younger I often bought shoes because of their style and would end up with blisters and sore feet. I have bought a pair of black Sketchers a few years ago and they were the comfiest shoes I ever had ( near perfect) now I keep getting identical ones as I know they are a great fit , I’m currently on my 4th pair.

OOOH well having weird feet issues (this isn’t a “poor me” post by the way, just an explanation – although might sound like one), shoes that I can wear without being crippled within minutes. I had a pair of boots which I wore with NO issues for 2 months (after the proper “breaking in” period) only for them to rub my heels so badly I ended up walking home in my socks. Also a pair of shoes I like. I don’t get many styles I like (just ones that I can wear). Thank you for the chance and it’s not a “sob story” (although will sound like one).

It’s all about comfort for me, I’m picky when it comes to shoes as so many rub my heels or pinch my toes and I hate that! I’d go barefoot all the time if I could, but for safety and dress code reasons I rarely can – so the perfect shoe would be one that protected my feet and looked presentable but otherwise that I didn’t know I was wearing.

Firstly I look for a comfortable flat shoe, it must fit like a glove on my small, narrow feet. The fabric used must breathe so that my feet stay comfortable no matter how much walking I do (which is a lot) I like ‘different’ shoes, one that has a style all of it’s own.
