Fancy yourself swooshing down the slopes? Like the idea of sipping a little something in the evening, feet warming by a fire, admiring the snowy views?
Well, good news – all you need is a child aged between 6 and 11, and a packet of felt tips. It’s couldn’t be simpler!
The competition is being run by Goodyear, the tire people, and is all about reinventing the wheel. Yes, yes, I know the idea is that you don’t reinvent the wheel, but Goodyear is all about innovation – cars wouldn’t be much use in the snow if they still used solid wood cart wheels would they? In the case of tires, progress is definitely a good thing.
The competition is to celebrate the launch of the new Goodyear winter tire – the UltraGrip Performance Gen-1 – and to enter, Goodyear are inviting children aged 6 – 11 to design the tires of the future, using their favourite Goodyear template. The tires should be practical for snowy weather, but funky too – let your imagination run wild.
Entries must be submitted by January 10th and the prize an all-in family ski trip for five persons at the French ski resort Les Arcs 1800. The competition is opened to Belgium, Netherlands, France and United Kingdom.
So how do you get started?
Easy peasy…
Pop over to the Goodyear competition website and download a template. Hand it over to your nominated child, and do whatever you can to get them to create the most colourful and imaginative design possible. I had Belle do one as an example for you. She designed tires with maximum possible surface area, so increase grip in the snow. The little red figures on the mountains are skiers.
I’m sure yours is going to be even more innovative and exciting. Belle is more of a subtle shading kind of girl:
Once your masterpiece is complete, head back to Goodyear and upload your picture. This could be a scan or a photo, but make sure it’s good quality. You don’t want to have done all that colouring for nothing.
