Win afternoon tea for two at The Bristol Hotel

I am a Taurus.

This means I am all about the good things in life. “Think physical pleasures and material goods,” says one website, “for those born under this sign revel in delicious excess. Taurus adores comfort and likes being surrounded by pleasing, soothing things. Along these lines, they also favour a good meal and a fine wine.”

It is true. I do revel in delicious excess.

A situation like this is my idea of a good time:

Afternoon tea in BristolI like to think too though that I am generous, and want others to be surrounded by pleasing, soothing things as well. It’s not just about me at home on my own lying around gorging on cake. (Honestly it’s not. Not all the time anyway).

My competition for you today then is a celebration of delicious excess – an afternoon tea for two at The Bristol Hotel. Enjoying a superb location on the quayside of Bristol’s floating harbour The Bristol Hotel is surrounded by the very best of Bristol and is a fabulous place to break from a day of sight-seeing for a well-deserved snackette.

Alternatively, just rock up, revel in the delicious cakey excess and head home for a decadent afternoon snooze. The choice is yours.

Please see below for ways to enter. The competition will close on 30th June and full T&Cs can be found here.

Afternoon tea is so good because it is pointlessly unnecessary, a very filling mini-meal full of little things that add up to a lot, and you always think that you will stop now and not have that nice piece of cake that is smiling up at you from the plate, and it is always followed by another one…ah bliss, especially when it is accompanied by proper tea in a proper pot with a strainer and all that…and even better if there is a glass of champagne as well. Yes indeedy afternoon tea is very special xx

Later in life my wife and I discovered afternoon teas and wherever we go now we have to try them. The Ritz really lives up to it’s reputation but here in Warwickshire you have to try Hampton Manor, incredible quality and value.
The best scones though are made by my granddaughter … I cannot stop eating those mmmm
