Competition – Win a £50 Tesco voucher to help make the summer holidays more fun!

This isn’t a sponsored post, it’s literally me walking to Tesco and buying you a voucher, I just wanted to make a small gesture to say ‘Guys! The summer holidays are nearly upon us! I FEEL YOUR PAIN!’

Truth be told, the summer holidays are a lot easier for me now than they were a few years ago – a 12 year old takes far less looking after than a toddler in practical terms. What does tend to happen though is that you fall into that trap of leaving them staring at an iPad for seven hours at a time, or let them stay in bed until midday every day, and really that’s not very wholesome is it?

Entertaining children is expensive though, which is why I thought it might be helpful to have a little something extra to go into the summer holiday kitty. Perhaps you could spend it all on treats for a picnic, or maybe some games for the garden? Crafts are popular with children, so I’ve heard, or maybe just buy a huge bottle of gin and drink the holidays away.

Win Tesco vouchers

Desperate frisbee throwing, probably late August

What you spend it on is up to you, but I hope that whatever it is, it helps give the summer holidays a bit of a boost.

To enter, just do your thang with the Rafflecopter widget below. The competition will close on July 29th at midnight, giving you plenty of holiday time in which to spend it.

Good luck!

I not only take mine, but the daughters and all the neighbours children, down the park for either ROUNDERS, CRICKET, FOOTBALL or just silly old hide and seek. I get really tired out, but so do the kids. all ages, all kinds.
it helps the mums and dads, and keeps a little of their sanity. everyone brings some sandwiches and we share and have big picnics. But our Bats and balls are old and broken … So I would use this to buy more from TESCOS….

  483. Sarah S
    26 July, 2015 / 3:25 pm

Is it wrong to say wine to get me through the holidays? It’s not that I don’t like the school holiday, and the children certainly need to recharge their batteries, but childcare is a nightmare and I usually can’t wait to get back to the routine of school every day in September.! If the children come shopping with me then they would probably spend it on enormous super-soaker water pistols for hot days in the garden – if we get any that is!

  484. Arabella Bazley
    26 July, 2015 / 4:59 pm

I would love to say a pile of chocs and treats to get me through the long Summer weeks, but instead I have to say school uniform because it always bankrupts me every single year! School holidays are a bit of a nightmare trying to keep 9 kids occupied for nearly 7 weeks! They all seem to hate the lack of routine (me included) and oddly my 12 year old daughter has been far worse behaved and attention seeking than my 3 year old – my 3 year old boy has been a little cherub!
