It’s a good question.
Should kids have their criminal records wiped clean at 18 if the crimes were non-violent?
What exactly does Mr Tumble keep in his spotty bag?
I dread to think.
It’s questions like these that we are asking every week in my Beamly TV chat room.
Unless you’ve been asleep for about two months you must have noticed me talking on social media about my TV room, but you’d be forgiven for thinking ‘what nonsense has this crazy woman got herself mixed up in now?’ and ignoring me.
I realised that I haven’t actually blogged about it, so I thought I’d tell you exactly what it was all about in the hope that you will sign up to my room and come and join me for a chat, to save the embarrassment of me having to watch Cbeebies by myself. It’s not really OK for a woman with two children who aren’t even at primary school any more.
So your job is to watch daytime TV??
I know, crazy right? In a typical week I watch three different shows. One is an hour of Cbeebies for all the parents stuck at home with kids. We make fun of the presenters, look for smutty double meanings in things and generally behave like children while the kids pay proper attention and actually learn things. To be fair I often learn things too, like a few weeks ago when I learnt the difference between a horse and a pony. (Who knew they weren’t just different breeds??)
Often I try to be a bit topical and watch a bit of The Wright Stuff, but my favourite is probably watching Millionaire Matchmaker and imagining what it would be like to get married at all, or even just have a boyfriend who could afford to take me out for dinner whenever I liked, let alone in a yacht.
I even got to go to the Beamly offices for a photo shoot to try and create the illusion that between episodes of Millionaire Matchmaker I am seductively baking exquisite cupcakes.
So how do I get involved?
You just need to join my room, look out for pings (emails reminders that I send out before shows) or tweets and Facebook updates where I beg for you to come and join in. You can of course post in the room any time at all and I will come and chat.
I’ll be watching Millionaire Matchmaker tomorrow at 11.30am – ITV2. Hope to see you soon!
