Your kitchen is a place you may spend a lot of time in (or want to spend more time in). It’s the place you cook, make your drinks, and if you have a dining table – like a lot of people do – in your kitchen, it’s also a place you eat and host your guests.
When you spend a lot of time in a certain place in your home, you want it to be functional and easy to find things; otherwise, it starts to frustrate you, and that is when changes may need to take place – such as a new kitchen (Rehome have a great selection, if you do go down this route!).
To help you make your kitchen a more functional space, we have put together a brief guide on three ways to make your kitchen more useful.
Created dedicated zones
One of the quickest changes you can make to your kitchen to make it more useful is to create zones. By having zones, you can easily store your items as well as know where they should all be when trying to find something. For example, you should keep your knives and chopping boards near your prepping zone, whereas you can keep your soaps, sponges and sprays in your cleaning zone. Having a zone can also help keep your kitchen safer if you have children.
Use multipurpose tools
Multipurpose tools can be extremely useful, especially when you are trying to save space in a busy kitchen. There are so many different types in the market which you can choose from, ranging from small clever gadgets to large multipurpose machines. A high-quality blender could double up as a food processor, or you can get measuring spoons which come as one, instead of separate spoons for each size.
Be clever with your storage
There are so many clever things you can do in your kitchen to maximise your storage options (especially if your kitchen is small). The easier thing to do at first is to store things vertically. Online, you can buy storage boxes which stack on top of each other, helping you use more of your cupboard space. You can also hang utensils on the wall, which will free up drawer space, as well as hang your pots and pans on the wall for even more storage. A great place to look for storage inspiration for your kitchen is on Pinterest, as there are plenty of guides which people have created. The other opinion is to look at Instagram, as a lot of home creators have created videos on being clever with your storage in your kitchen.
There are so many things you can do to your kitchen to make it a more useful place. What changes are you planning on making to your kitchen to make it more useful? Will you be making any of the changes above? Is there a tip which we haven’t included that you think we should have? Let us know in the comment box below. We look forward to hearing from you.
