Fancy a little John Lewis shopping spree? I say little, because £50 in John Lewis isn’t exactly going to give you the freedom to sweep things off the shelves, but you’d be able to buy yourself a pretty nice treat selection.
Going to John Lewis is one of my favourite things to do. I like wandering around and imagining how my house would look if I had married money, and then remembering I haven’t and instead just buying a single plate for Instagram pictures. If I’m feeling particularly decadent I might buy a candle, or some of those pink champagne truffles in a heart shaped box.
Anyway, I’m feeling generous so I thought I’d buy a John Lewis voucher to give someone.
I know right? How nice am I??
I do have slightly selfish motives too.
I’ve been having a bit of a mid-blog-life-crisis because I keep seeing all these posts everywhere about how blogging is dead and people only ever look at Instagram stories. The thing is that I’m not as good at Instagram stories as I am at writing blog posts, and so I want that to NOT BE TRUE.
So I had an idea. I thought that I would use this competition as a way to encourage you to read some of my favourite blog posts from the last few months. Not a BRIBE exactly, just a gentle incentive.
Okay, so mainly a bribe, but I promise I will pick out good posts – a good mix of funny and thoughtful. (Me.)
So how it will work is that in the widget I’ve included eight ways to enter – five of them are links to other blog posts, so that you can discover some great content AND help me prove to the world that blogging definitely isn’t dead and I don’t have to retrain as a teacher or an astronaut or anything. You can do as many or as few as you like, but obviously the more you do the greater your chance of winning the £50 John Lewis voucher.
And that’s it!
The competition will close at 11.59pm on 25th May 2018. T&Cs apply – see the widget for more details.
Entered! I do this in John Lewis too, walk around and dream what a house I would have if I had money. I normally walk out with a giant pick n’ mix.

Entered! Blogs are still a thing, I would much rather read a blog than look at an Instagram story.

Yay! I’m very pleased to hear that Jade
I love John Lewis, they always give me great inspiration no matter what room I’m looking to improve
Sometimes the window shopping/ browsing is the best bit of a shopping fix – all the pleasure but none of the guilt! Still I could put that £50 to good use!
Wandering around John Lewis admiring, dreaming and wishing is one of my hobbies, too.. Have you ever read Lynn Grabhorn’s ‘Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting’? It’s no literary masterpiece but it does explain her theory about why and how to manifest what you want in life without having to retrain as an astronaut. .
I enjoy reading your posts and wish you continued success with your blog.

I’ve not read that one but thanks for the tip, I’m always on the look out for new books.
Entiered I would use this voucher to buy my mum something lovely for her 50th birthday then I would never feel sad again when I hear her say she’ll never afford something from John Lewis even tho all she does is work my rock <3
Good Luck everyone
My daughter has her eye on a fantastic duvet cover..so I would love tohelp her out…
Thabk you for the chance
I too much prefer reading blogs to Instagram stories. I like well written content and you do produce that. Keep blogging!

Thanks Rory :-D
Your blog is one of the ones that can still engross me/make me snort with laughter/etc and so shows that blogging is most certainly NOT dead. But please write a post about it if you decide to become an astronaut as I defo want to read about your escapades!
P.S- the Auschwitz post really was the stand out one of your selection on the rafflecopter widget for me.

Thanks Isabel! Maybe I SHOULD train as an astronaut, just for the content??
Thank you so very much for the opportunity, what a great giveaway!
This would by my daughter a little treat for studying so hard!
Fingers crossedxx
If I won the lottery I could furnish the house I’d build in one morning, the shopping list in my head is that comprehensive!
I can’t see instagram replacing blogging, instagram just seems to brush the surface and often that isn’t enough.
I’d love to treat myself to some perfume if I won this.
That so awesome
Just read one so far, but wanted to let you know I’m much more a blog reader than Instagram story person – I still can’t work them out – am I supposed to comment on them? They go so quick and then they disappear so if I’m not on it constantly what will I have missed?!
Keep writing your blog – and if you have any hints about Insta stories let me know!

Blogging is definitely not dead if you’ve got the talent for writing :) I love your writing style and sense of humour and look forward to a new notification dropping into my inbox letting me know there is a new post! (and I am also very local to you so I feel “linked”!)

Ahhh! Thank you! (Especially for the GDPR email bit!)
I loved re-visiting all these posts and definitely love reading your blog as you have a real talent for writing and telling it just how it really is, thanks and keep up the great blogging
I really enjoyed reading your posts. I can’t make any comparison to Instagram stories though, as I don’t have an account on there and can’t understand the attraction of the platform at all..
I love John Lewis because they treat their employees so well, I view it as an ethical company. I’m not an employee but wish I was.
I have read these posts before, but really enjoyed reading them all again. I now really want to eat some party rings! And I looked at the other shop-style biscuits on your Instagram.
I read your blogs don’t read many others, but do read those AIBU posts on mumsnet or netmums never remember. They always suck me in being quite gossipy.
