Number one – Eat more dip
Belle and I were eating some beetroot and mint dip a few days ago, after a Christmas diet consisting mainly of rose creams and that cheese with the bits of apricot in, and we were really enjoying it.
“We should eat more dip,” I said.
Belle, munching loudly on a piece of cucumber, agreed.
“When I came home from school,” she said, “instead of having some brioche, I could eat dip. We could start off with something simple like mint, and then work out way up to more adventurous things.” She does likes a project.*
“Good idea,” I said. “Let’s eat more dip next year.”
Number two – Grow
This is something that has been on my mind for a few months now but that was crystallised by the arrival yesterday from America of a t-shirt, sent to me by one of my very favourite digital marketing bloggers, Mark Schaefer.**
Now I’m not looking obviously to grow physically, although the rose cream and apricot cheese diet has been doing that regardless, nor am I seeking spiritual growth, as everyone knows I have no morals and a heart of stone. No, 2014 is going to be the year I grow professionally, get over that British Guardian reader thing of being ashamed to want to make money, and make big things happen.
I have a t-shirt after all, so basically this time next year I am going to be a millionaire.
It was as though international postal services were conspiring to drive home a message – that I need to quit being a busy fool, commit some plans to paper, and make this a year to be proud off.
So there you have it. Become a millionaire and eat more dips.
What are your New Year’s resolutions?
I love the dip resolution – a specific take on the “eat more good/nice stuff” that I resolve to do every flippin year and then spend every month wishing I was a better cook/ budgeter (is that a word?) or planner. So maybe I should resolve to eat more dip too- because the accompanying skills sound good to acquire too!
I do like to have a specific target. It’s like my ’40 things to do before 40′ list – I don’t want to just say ‘go to America’ or something vague like that, so I said ‘drink a milkshake in an American diner’. If you like the dip idea we could make it a collaborative Pinterest board :-)
Woohoo and yay for that!! :D
I like the idea that you should earn more money from your blog as you really are jolly good at what you do. Now if you could perhaps find a way of combining that with the dip thing that would be ace wouldn’t it?
You asked for any dip recipes, so here is my take on walnut and feta cheese dip: http://www.unexpectedtraveller.com/Blog/walnut-and-feta/
Hope you like it!
