Beautiful beverages

Have you noticed how everywhere you go now they want to dust your drink with chocolate powder or make some elaborate pattern out of milk froth?

I have to admit that although I know the coffee shop people do it for everyone, and probably loathe the very sight of a coffee bean shaped stencil by the end of the day, it still makes me feel special. I genuinely think I enjoy my drink more when it looks pretty. Simple things etc etc.

Quite often I like to take pictures of my beautiful beverages, in a bid to capture their beauty for ever, and also to make me stop for a minute, reflect on the simple pleasure of a nicely shaped cup, and get a bit of perspective on my day.

Here then, for your amusement, is a little gallery of the delightful drinks I have enjoyed recently.

Cheers!

Gosh yes, I don’t like the TASTE, it’s just about the decorations ;-)

They’re beautiful! It is a nice added touch. The little milk bottle reminds me of the ones we used to get at primary school at playtiime way back in the olden days when I was young (the 70’s)!

Yes! They were just like that! So cute. I wanted to take it home with me but managed to resist the urge. I bet people will though.

I kind of think the last one is a little OTT, but I do love the little milk jug!

I want to see the cup of coffee with the queens face in foam for the Jublilee, it is your duty to find it.

In a previous life (well still this one really I haven’t been reincarnated) I worked for a couple of coffee shops. When I worked at the second one I had to watch A TWO HOUR video called “cafe latte art” all about how to make different patterns in the coffee just by wobbling the milk jug in different ways. No cheating with chocolate and stencils here. I can (probably still) make patterns just in the way the coffee and milk mix together

It’s not just coffee and hot chocolate that can be made pretty. I used to work in an Irish pub where we were required to draw shamrocks in the heads of every pint of Guinness we served. I used to experiment with hearts for Valentines day and holly leaves at Christmas. Added a bit of fun to an other wise dull shift

Should we be worrying about the amount of coffee you have consumed in order to get enough beautiful ones worthy of photography?!! I reckon about 1 in 20 of mine arrive looking as good as that!
