I’m not really here!
I mean I am a real person obviously, but I’m actually writing this on Thursday, and you’re reading it on, well, not Thursday. How cool is that?? I just told the computer, and it remembered to do it all by itself. I feel like a character in a Graham Greene novel, sending a letter out to a spy in some far flung part of South America, with instructions for him to post it on a particular day, at a particular time, from a postbox marked with a black crow.
I love being at that age where although I can use it fairly well, technology still has the power to amaze me. How do voices come out of your phone without it even being connected to anything? Where even IS the internet?
It’s all very impressive.
So here’s my question today – if you weren’t here either, where would you rather be? You can be anywhere in the country, in the world, in the whole universe, doing anything you like.
Of course if you weren’t here, and I wasn’t here either, which I’m not, this conversation would never have happened, and you wouldn’t know what the question was to answer it, but let’s try not to think too deeply about the whole thing.
Well since you ask, I’d like to be in the south of France in about May, at a naturist campsite knowing that I could spend the whole summer there without a care in the world and with someone else worrying about the mundane stuff like paying for it and looking after my house and paperwork while I am gone. But then maybe by the time you read this I will have changed my mind and I might be living in a different daydream!
Does it have to be the same time or can it be the same place bt a different time?

ooohhhh In my 2 bed luxury cottage complete with swimming pool, on my country estate with a river running through it (complete with broadband and a helipad) somewhere up rural North would do please.

In Barbados!
South of France-Nice or Cannes as always love it when I attend the Film Festival and remember incredible family holidays there.
Realistically though probably LA as my husband wants to move there and it’s in the 5 year plan. I spent time there as my shot film was shown at a film festival there and later sold to US TV and it’s one productive town. I’d want to live on Malibu beach though or in Bel Air so no doubt need to save a lot before we relocate, if we do! I’m also amazed by the telephone (!) and internet. Husband works in IT and he might as well be working in magic to me!!!
In Argentina with my sister, hanging out by the pool in the sunshine, reading a novel and contemplating a BBQ. I’d take my boyfriend too, of course, and my laptop so I could write lots of fascinating stories while I was there. Bliss.
That does sound blissful. I love the idea of ‘contemplating’ a BBQ – sometimes you don’t even need the actual thing do you, just the prospect of it!
In a hammock, in the Maldives, eating coconut and the hardest decision being whether to have a nap or have a swim……..
