Having calmed down from my fury of Thursday night, and after agreeing to balance the crafts and foot rubs with a workshop on women in the media, I’ve got a quick weekend competition for you. Just to lighten the mood. I’m going to be quick though, as Take Me Out has just started. (Seriously, how great is Take Me Out?? No likey, no lighty…)
Here’s the deal…
Aromettes are a new coffee thing from Douwe Egberts. It’s like ordinary ground coffee, but pressed into single serving bean shapes. Not only does the process apparently lock in the flavour, but they also look very cute in a glass jar.
I’ve tried some, and they were pretty nice. You can get them exclusively in Tesco from Monday if you want some of your own.
But here’s the best bit. If you quite fancy some, but are a bit of a cheapskate and normally stick to Asda’s own instant granules, you are in for a treat. I’ve got £100 of vouchers for Tesco Direct to giveaway! £100 whole English pounds. You could buy loads of tubs of Aromettes with that. Except you don’t need to, because the winner gets their own tub too – bonus!
To enter, all you have to do is comment on this post, telling me why you need coffee more than anyone else. That’s literally ALL you have to do. I’d ask you to sign up for email blog updates and tweet this post, but you’re bound to do that anyway, so there’s really no point.
Leave your comment before Friday, when I will pick a winner at random.
Good luck!
it keeps me perky :)
I NEED coffee just to survive. The End.
I need coffee because I have a chirpy 4 month old baby – but only at 2am!!
I am 10 days past my due date and could give birth any minute so I will definitely be needing some coffee in my life really soon. Thanks!
I have 11 kids here tonight for birthday sleepover. Will they sleep? Will I need coffee tomorrow to get me through the day?
As a sleep deprived single mum trying to work out how to juggle bringing up 2 kids and make money I need caffeine to function through my day ;-)
My poor husband needs to win some coffee. I hate the stuff, especially the smell, and so I never buy it for him.
What he needs is for some lovely lady to send him some :)
Coffee is the perfect pick me up for this harassed mum of five. Bring on the Aromettes!!
because i’m falling asleep…zzzzzz……
I need coffee to keep me going through the day and especially if I manage to escape for a bit for a coffee with my mum :)
I need coffee because I have barely slept in weeks! I have a toddler who is on the go for up to 15 hours a day – and so without it, you would find me asleep in her cot, or under the table…propped against the wall- you get the idea! As I type, said toddler is banging on her baby gate, and I am trying to ignore her so I can catch up with emails, and plan the finances/grocery shop/activities for tomorrow.
You wouldn’t believe how much concealer I need under my eyes at the moment. I think emulsion paint would probably do the trick. Then again the constant yawning probably is just as bad as the huge black eyes!
I’ve just gone back up and put her to bed, kissed her, and whispered ‘goodnight’. She’s not got back up, so I’m hoping I can chill for the rest of the evening – well, do the housework, write a blog post, and try to remember to eat something.
Zzzzzzzzz coffee anyone?
WAIT A MINUTE WAIT A MINUTE
This is like the Inflatable Ladybird review all over again.
Is this GROUND or INSTANT? Please clarify.
Sorry, I was distracted by the young boy doing parkour on Take Me Out…
It is GROUND (which I’m pretty sure I mentioned) and as you can see from the picture, suitable for all coffee makers. Honestly. Some people are so fussy. It’s basically ordinary coffee that you would chuck in a cafetiere, but in a lump.
Also they look a bit like cute brown vulvas in the picture. Is that an accurate description?
God it’s all about the vulvas with you isn’t it?
*examines tiny vulvas in jar*
I guess so, a little bit, but smaller. They taste different though.
Well it’s my husband who needs coffee,he’s not a morning person and needs about 3 cup’s before he starts the day ! lol
Have tweeted @CHOCOAJ x
I am on week five of broken sleep. My 4 year old is having a laugh with her mind tricks, tantrums, faffing, emotional blackmail etc etc
Quite simply I am on shit grumpy nightmare form and running on coffee alone. Fancy new coffee would be most welcome.
Did Lisbeth just say vulvas? I think she should win just for sheer creativity in getting that word into a post about coffee.
nice and easy for a morning, dont even need to remember where I have put the teaspoons to measure out the dose to wake me up, just what I need
I always need a cup of coffee first thing in the morning!
I don’t actually like coffee, but I need £100 of Tesco Direct vouchers! Does that count as an entry? If not, I need coffee to, um, create authentic pirate treasure maps when doing wholesome crafting with kiddies.
wow ur looking fab and great blog will be reading for tips x
i have a son with ADHD so i need all the help i can get to keep up with him ….the coffee will keep me awake and alert lol and the £100 is compensation for lack of sleep and dirty looks i have to endure off other parents when my child is bouncing off the walls and shouting random words at strangers lol
i dont like coffee , but might be convinced i do , with the £100 sweetner off tesco direct …..infact i’d probably end up being the biggest coffee lover after that
p.s the above is my wifey and she deffo deserves the £100 for all her hard work looking after our kids … she has bad arthritis and needs a medal for how well she copes with our lads ADHD x
9am lectures… need I say more? ;)

“I did a poo in my Peppa Castle!”
(this is why I need coffee!)
There was a young(ish) woman who lived in a shoe
She had so many children she didn’t know what to do;
She gave them some milk, and a biscuit or two
Then whipped up a coffee after putting them to bed
Then to the washing, the ironing and cleaning
and soon the house was clean and gleaming;
The coffee helped me on my way
Best way to start and end the day.
I’ll actually die if I don’t drink coffee. No really. Like in that film ‘Crank,’ except with more coffee, and less Jason Statham.

Because I am me and therefore I deserve that cup of coffee! I mean are you me? So who are you to tell me differently? If you were me then you would know that it is me that deserves coffee but as you are not me then you can only really know that you should give me as much coffee as…..wait I feel actually maybe I’ve drunk too much coffee!
I need coffee to live, I have 5 children (4 of them under 5) and one on the way. I can’t stand tea I am a HUGE coffee drinker, always will be, well, as long as I have my kids ;)

I need coffee because my 4 year old keeps on having dreams that he is on the toilet…while my 2 year old has decided that he no longer needs to wear a nappy to bed yet really isn’t ready…so running the washing machine CONSTANTLY…a husband who keeps on snoring regardless of kids, me rolling him over / kicking him…add into this the fact that I run my own business and have to sound chirpy and helpful all day and I really need a coffee or ten to get me through the day.

For the times when Red Bull is just not cutting it
I need coffee and lots of it. I’m trying to juggle a full time job, starting a new company and keeping my blog up to date all at the same time. Blog is suffering at the moment :-(
To wake me up, to keep me going with my two gorgeous and very character building little boys, to enable me to put up with my husband (having both been made redundant we’re at home 24/7 and I do think there is a little bit of truth in the rumour that absence makes the heart grow fonder!), to try and sort out the mess that social services have made of my elderly mum’s life after she was found in their care with a broken hip and now will never be able to walk again, to try and preserve my sanity as I have regular biopsies for carcinoma in situ and now, just to throw sometihng else into the mix, 6 lumps have been discovered in one of my breasts and 1 in the otheer!!!!! So, coffee would just help me along the way as I try to keep up with lifes challenges.
Just to help me along – you don’t have to live with my wife – she’s lovely – but generally she’s a bit lively (not like that) and colourful – never a dull moment kind of girl.
wakes me up in the morning for a long day ahead
I need coffee more than anyone else cos me and my hubby have run out and we’ve been reduced to drinking the moldering fruit teas from the back of the cupboard that even Ray Mears wouldn’t touch. I fear for our sanity come the morning…
I need coffee so I can watch the entire series of Twin Peaks in one sitting. Make that a black coffee. With cherry pie!
I just love a good cup of coffee!
Between having 3 boys under 5, doing a course to become a childminder and completing an OCN to become breastfeeding peer support worker, I need coffee to help me stay awake past 7.30pm!

A grumpy mummy!
something has to get me through the day at my desk – boring office job zzzzzzzzzzzzz
I need coffee more than anyone else to keep up with 5 extremely witty and smart children, this comes with a driving schedule that would put any taxi driver to shame, a handsome sharp hubby that I dearly love to spend time with after the kids go to bed and 2 husky dogs that need loads of long walks. My coffee’s help the day go with a swing and keeps me enthusiastic about everything I do.
After a night of NO sleeping because my baby boy is cutting his molars and then having to get up a 6 am to go to work, I think I need coffee just to keep my eyes open.
It was supposed to be my new year’s resolution to stop drinking coffee, then my belated new year’s resolution was to cut down. I failed miserably. Coffee absolutely keeps me going. If I don’t have a cuppa, I don’t function and I get cold-turkey headaches, which puts me in a vile mood. Coffee for me is essential for me to be the person I am – that’s how badly I need coffee!!
I need coffee because without it – I would go back to bed, put the duvet over my head and let kids/partner/work/the boss …. fend for themselves!
Because my 2 year old kept me up till after 1 am – then a cat broke into my house (only wish i was joking) then my 4 year old threw tantrums at 4 am.
I am a grump…
Coffee always scores 10 out of 10, but I need Douwe Egberts’ Aromettes for elevenses!
I need coffee at all times of the day cos I just LOVE the taste and the smell. It’s the first thing I think about when I’ve got up in the morning.
I need coffee to give me the energy to cope with a 5 year old who insists on dressing herself and consequently looks like a cross between Su pollard and Helena Bonham Carter, a toddler who has decided she is a cat and wants her meals served in the cat’s bowl (thankfully she has yet to poo on the neighbour’s begonias, but I’m sure that will come) and a 13 year old who speaks in a dialect of indistinct grunts and can only make meaningful eye contact with a Nintendo DS.
I need coffee to keep me perky all day to cope with a very busy 3yr old else he’d run rings around me
It gives me the get up and go I need in the morning for the day ahead with my 2 daughter’s!! oh yeah and my partner when he’s home…
