What CBD Does

What does CBD do, exactly? Whether you’re using CBD face cream or body cream, you’re probably wondering what all the buzz is about and whether or not this whole CBD craze is just another alternative health fad.

CBD interacts with something called the endocannabinoid system in the body. This system is responsible for regulating mood, appetite, immune responses, and much more. In fact, the ECS itself is biologically designed to accept cannabinoids and even creates some of its own.

CBD, like other cannabinoids, interacts with this system in a very specific way to produce a range of effects. Unlike its cousin, THC, CBD doesn’t produce a “high”, which is the very reason so many people like it. Cannabis is an amazing and versatile plant with many health benefits, but most prefer not to become intoxicated (not to mention THC/marijuana are still federally outlawed).

When you apply CBD cream to your face or body, it gets absorbed directly through the skin to the blood vessels within. From there, it stimulates pain relief, inflammation relief, and much more. There are lots of different options when it comes to buying CBD products, so make sure you do your research and buy from a reputable supplier such as Royal CBD.

Why People Use CBD Cream

So, why should you use CBD cream on your skin? Millions of Americans suffer from skin conditions that produce inflammation and pain. Eczema, for example, creates red, itchy patches on the skin. The skin becomes inflamed and can be incredibly uncomfortable.

Acne is the most common skin condition and is the product of infected skin pores. These infections are seen as a threat by the body’s immune system, thus warranting the immune response that creates inflammation and swelling. This is the reason acne sores turn red and pop up off the skin.

People use CBD cream to help manage conditions like acne and eczema, but also to help with joint pain and post-workout soreness. Since CBD is a natural painkiller and anti-inflammatory compound, it’s perfect for localized pain and injuries. Applying directly to the afflicted area can often result in immediate relief, and you don’t have to worry about the cost of prescriptions or OTC medications.

What Science Has To Say About CBD

So, is there any actual evidence to back up the claims that CBD creams, oils, and capsules work? I’m glad you asked! There are several studies that prove CBD’s effectiveness in many applications, and the FDA has even approved a CBD-based medication for treating seizures.

This study in particular showed the effectiveness of cannabinoids in sebostatic and anti-inflammatory applications. The study showed how CBD can be used to treat acne and other skin conditions by limiting the immune response to irritants and helping to “calm” the cells.

The amazing thing about CBD is that we’re always learning new things about how it works with our bodies. The above-mentioned study is just one of dozens, and as more money pours into the CBD industry, more research is paid for. We’re excited to continue learning about all of the awesome benefits CBD has to offer.

How To Use CBD Cream

Using CBD cream is as easy as applying your favorite lotion or salve. Apply to any areas that are inflamed, in pain, or where you simply want to relax. You can apply CBD cream after a soothing soak in the tub, and you’ll find that you’re calm, focused, and ready for whatever challenges lie ahead.

It’s best to start with creams that have lower doses of CBD and work your way up. Everyone reacts to CBD differently, and you might find that you need a higher dose to benefit from it.

You Can’t Overdose On CBD

At least, let’s address the question everyone’s been thinking about since the first paragraph: can you use too much CBD cream? The answer is no. There’s no such thing as a CBD overdose, and using more than you need doesn’t produce any harmful effects. If you apply more than you need, you’ll still get the benefits, but your skin might be a bit more oily from the excess cream!

Given prolonged usage, there’s a chance you could start to develop a resistance to your CBD cream dose. If this occurs, you might need to up your dosage or decrease the frequency at which you’re applying your cream.

Side-Effects

CBD produces few to no side-effects, and none of them are dangerous or life-threatening. CBD cream can cause fatigue, diarrhea, and even mood changes in high enough doses. Those taking even the best CBD oils and capsules have also experienced dry mouth and appetite changes.

Overall, CBD is incredibly safe and doesn’t produce any side-effects you’d need to worry about. If you start to experience uncomfortable side-effects, you can always spread out your usage or lower your dose.

Remember that there are thousands of CBD cream varieties available today, so it could be a simple matter of switching brands. Everyone reacts differently to CBD, so just monitor how your body handles it and go from there.

The Bottom Line

Now that you know all about CBD cream, you can make a more informed choice when you purchase your first container. CBD is legal in all 50 states, and there are plenty of varieties and brands to choose from. You can expect to spend anywhere from about $20-$60 on CBD cream, depending on the dose, brand, and location. Don’t forget to research the brand before you commit to a purchase!

Hello, thank you for sharing this information. I have combination skin, so I often have acne. Plus because of allergic reactions on different cosmetic products, I am very carefully choosing what to use. From my own experience, I had been using different CBD creams but none of them gave me the visual results. So, I was wondering maybe I don’t put enough, because was afraid of overdose it. Now I understand how efficiently to use it. Maybe in the next article you could suggest specific brand of CBD creams? Thanks.
