Picture this…
It’s a Sunday afternoon. The rain is beating gently against the kitchen windows, and I’m humming gently to myself as I lightly dust the work surface with flour and begin to roll out the pastry for the homemade pie I’m baking for dinner. Small babies jabber happily at my feet, and a squirrel swings playfully from the strings of my apron.
No? Not seeing it?
That’s because it would NEVER HAPPEN.
However, I am shoving my slummy exterior to one side just for today, to show my support for CLIC Sargent’s Yummy Mummy campaign, raising money to help children and young people living with cancer.
Yummy Mummy Week, which runs from Saturday 10 March to Mother’s Day on Sunday 18 March, is a fun-packed fundraising campaign during which mums do something yummy, whilst spending quality time with their own children, family and friends. Money raised throughout the week will be used by CLIC Sargent to provide clinical, practical and emotional support for children and young people with cancer and their families.
Actress Patsy Palmer hosted a glamorous tea party for deserving mothers to launch Yummy Mummy week 2012, and was joined by author and celebrity chef Annabel Karmel, laying on elevenses for five mothers whose children are currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
Despite being terribly busy baking and such like, CLIC Sargent have very generously offered me a bundle of Yummy Mummy goodies to give away, including the aforementioned apron, a t-shirt, mug, mirror and trolleycoin keyring. You’ll be the envy of the playground with all that, I can tell you.
To be in with a chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post before Mother’s Day, telling me what you intend to do to express your inner yummy mummy. For extra entries you can go and like the Yummy Mummy Week facebook page, or mine come to that, or for super bonus points, why not give CLIC Sargent some of your cash?
I am not sure I have an inner yummy mummy, but you never know maybe it is well hidden!! I think I will be taking my mum out for lunch, and maybe I might get a nice handmade card from my boy! I love all the handmade pictures, they make me smile more than anything bought from a shop.
Instead of taking mum out for lunch ,the kids and I would make her a lovely meal ,then we would spend the afternoon ,watching Mrs Browns Boys on DVD! She loves it ,and it cheers her up .Mind you ,it’s a bit rude for the kids ,so they will be banished to another room ,to play on the Wii!!!!!!
Great cause, I will be summoning my inner strength not to mind the mess and allow my daughter to take the lead in making my mum some of her favourite brownies.
I’m going to host a book and cake sale at home!
Great giveaway and cause – would you like to link up with all the other blogs about Yummy Mummy Week over at Typecast’s blog? http://www.iamtypecast.com/2012/02/dosomethingyummy-link-up-week-4.html (there have been 4 weeks of writing prompts and they will stay open all of feb and march) #dosomethingyummy

I have no real plans to be a yummy mummy in all honesty, However if I won, I could strategically place these goodies around my mess and kid myself that I do :)
would be good to win something
I would get my two boys to help me, by not helping me at all! (more mess than help actually), while I bake their fav banana sponge cake.

Fab prize!
To express my inner yummy mummy this sunday i’am going to have an un-interruped bath with some gorgeous Lush bath goodies instead of having to share the bath with my toddler,10 bath toys and blue crazy soap paint!!
Taking my mum for movie tomarow hope she enjoy.
My inner yummy mummy is desperately trying to get the outer yummy mummy to sort herself out – I feel there is going to be a pampering session coming shortly which will involve a manicure, getting rid of these greys and some DIY tan. Something to make both mummies feel great! :)
We are such a big family it would be difficult for us all to see all the Mums in our family on Sunday. We all meet up together at one house, eat together and the Mums are all lined up on the sofas and looked after, a nice glass of wine and some daffs ;0) We all contribute to the food and have a lovely family day together. xxx

I am not going to get stressed out today whe my kids are arguing about who has made the best card etc
