REVIEW: The Bosch Unlimited vacuum with infinite run time

In association with Bosch

So, the Bosch Unlimited cordless vacuum cleaner.

Now here’s the deal. I do already have a different cordless vacuum and I love it. It’s so handy to be able to just grab it from the cupboard when I need to do I quick job on the cat litter that Camille kicks all over the kitchen floor, and I know the cleaner likes being able to wheel it around the house with her without constantly plugging and unplugging.

HOWEVER.

The battery life is not great. I have to remember to add a fully charged battery before the cleaner comes on Monday, and she always uses it up before she finishes the house. The individual batteries take ages to charge, so I always feel like I’m playing a game of vacuum cleaner battery roulette.

(I don’t get out much, so I have to get my thrills where I can.)

The Bosch Unlimited vacuum is different.

Bosch Unlimited review

The new cordless Bosch Unlimited vacuum comes with interchangeable batteries. Nothing new you might think, and you’d be right. The cool thing about the Bosch Unlimited though is that the batteries charge more quickly that you can use them, effectively giving you an infinite run time.

Oooooh!

As quickly as you can suck up those crumbs, the next Bosch battery is charging, ready to go. If you wanted to you could vacuum the whole house, over and over, just going around and around, switching batteries again and again.

I mean you’d be a bit of a loon if you did that, but you COULD, that’s the point.

The battery has been taken from the Bosch power tool range, so if you have any cordless Bosch tools you can interchange the batteries from these. The Unlimited also contains the latest motor technology: the DigitalSpin Motor. It’s apparently ‘perfectly calibrated aerodynamic blades rotate faster than a Formula One motor.’

Fancy.

Bosch Unlimited review

Bosch says that its products ‘marry uncompromising quality with technical perfection’, which is a pretty bold claim and definitely something that needs putting to the test. So that’s what I did.

Here’s what I found:

Simple to set up

The Bosch Unlimited vacuum was very intuitive – simple and quick to unpack and put together and straightforward to use.

Sometimes, given my advancing years, *ahem*, I can find new technology a bit confusing and stare at things, trying to figure out what goes where. The Bosch Unlimited was so easy I didn’t need any instructions at all – it all just clicked. (Literally and figuratively.)

Clean on all levels

I don’t mean a spiritual plain or anything.

The Bosch Unlimited vacuum is so light though, you can basically stroll about with it as though it’s a cane and you’re about to launch into a song and dance routine about the joys of cleaning.

Spot a cobweb up in the corner by the ceiling? Not a problem! Want to vacuum your carpets, sofas and your hard floors? Bring it on.

Why not have a watch of this short video I made? It shows me setting up the Unlimited cordless vacuum and giving it its first spin around the house.

(It’s almost as exciting as that video I made about ironing. Watch out too for me saying ‘interchangeable batteries in the broadest Somerset accent ever.)

Quick to charge

The Bosch Unlimited quick charger really is quick – fully charged in under an hour.

Not much else to say under this point.

Quickety quick.

Lightweight and easy to store

The head of the Bosch Unlimited is very flexible, and seems to find its way into every corner. The whole vacuum is very light too, meaning you can do things like go up and down the stairs really easily and even hoover the ceiling, should you feel so inclined.

(I’m not sure a ceiling ever gets dusty? Wouldn’t the dust just sort of fall off because it’s upside down??)

Because of the light, slim design, it’s also simple to store as it doesn’t take up much space. It does comes with a wall fixing too so you can hang it on the wall if you want to.

Bosch cordless vacuum cleaner review

Overall then I was pretty impressed. The Bosch Unlimited cordless vacuum cleaner is easy to set up, simple to use, lightweight and quick to charge. A big thumbs up all round.

Boom.

Or should I say Bosch?

I love my cordless hoover but I agree it’s annoying the time it takes the battery to charge! This looks great!
