Competition – win a Samsung digital camera

Hellooo and Happy Wednesday to you all! (Unless you’re reading this on another day, in which case, where have you been??)

This week I have another exciting competition for you, a little treat, a thank you for tolerating me. I will say right now that I have been in a rather strange, distracted mood this morning, so I this post comes out a little odd I apologise. I’m not drunk or anything, promise.

So, yes, the competition.

Starting today, for one week only, I’m offering you the chance to win this very lovely Samsung ES28 digital camera. Pretty isn’t it?

Samsung digital camera

What is kind of spooky is that I actually have a pink Samsung camera very similar to this one. Honest I do! I’d take a picture of it to prove it, but, well, that clearly isn’t going to work… I really love my camera. It was a 30th birthday present, and apart from my 30th birthday night out, where I temporarily lost it in a nightclub toilet, we have been very happy together. I especially like the lovely big screen on the back, see…

Samsung digital camera

The camera has very kindly been given to me by Tesco, who are also running a competition this week. Theirs is actually much more exciting than mine. It has a video spot-the-difference AND you can win even more prizes. Definitely worth a look. Mine is just this. Sorry.

Anyway, if – as I’m sure is the case – you want to be Just Like Me and have your very own pink Samsung camera, then you really should enter shouldn’t you? Here’s what you have to do:

  • If you haven’t already, sign-up to get my posts by email.
  • If you’re on twitter, tweet this post. There’s a button somewhere…
  • Leave me a comment telling me who, out of everyone in the world who has ever been, you would most like to take a picture of and why.

That’s all! You have one week. Starting now. GO!

I would take a photo of Elvis with my nana, shes 98 years old and she so loved him. I think she’s got every record of his and she’s watched all his films

  2. 17 November, 2010 / 9:04 am

One person I would LOVE to photograph, well its two, I’d love to be the wedding photographer for Kate and Will! Man I can dream lol!

Hmm… well I could fall into the trap I always set myself, and that is to give a string of hot men I’d like to snap and perv over.
But there are already loads of photos of Paul Newman, Gerard Butler and Hugh Laurie on the internet.
So, what I would really like to do, is go back to the ’60s and do a photoshoot with my mum. I’ve recently been trying to build a better relationship with her and have uncovered some amazing photos of her when she was younger.
But that is the problem, there are only a handful of pictures, which is a shame as she was really hot!
There we have it. I’d like to photograph my young mum.

  4. 17 November, 2010 / 9:20 am

I would like to take a photo of the first human being, “Adam and Eva” or “Lucy”, to just say “this is it – now get off!” :)

    And yes, I am from Sweden… :)

  5. 17 November, 2010 / 9:20 am

I would like to take a picture of my mum but she’s not with us any more. I have a lovely picture of her but she was like me – always behind the camera and very rarely in front of it!

    Already tweeted

Thanks for running the comp :-)

  6. 17 November, 2010 / 9:25 am

Would it be wrong to say Alexander Skarsgaard. The photo could sit on my desk all day and cheer me up!

    17 November, 2010 / 9:27 am

I’d like to get a picture of the nativity, complete with baby Jesus in the manger. I reckon if that did really happen, then a snap of that would make a great Christmas card. Or maybe earn me a few quid if I sell it to the papers.

    No-offence to anybody intended.

Signed up to emails and RT’d @missielizzieb

  8. 17 November, 2010 / 9:29 am

I would take a photo of both my boys with my dad who died 11 years ago this month. I would love to see him with them and it would be my most treasured photo ever. Infact just thinking about it has made me cry

    17 November, 2010 / 9:30 am

    17 November, 2010 / 9:31 am

I’d love to take a picture of my children with my Grandma but never could as she died before they were born.

She was the most lovely lady. She looked after me when I was poorly and my parents were at work, always fed me Spam sandwiches on brown bread (which for some reason were lovely when she made them) and most importantly, taught me to bake as my Mum can mess up packet cake mix! I love baking with my children now and she gave me that.

I’ve even become the family Christmas cake maker since she died and still make them in her Tree shaped cake tin. Now where’s the booze? They all need feeding :)

  12. 17 November, 2010 / 9:32 am

I’d take a pic of myself in a bid to see myself through other people’s eyes… without the hangups and insecurities they don’t see!

I would love to take a picture of my wedding day with my brother in it. He managed to escape with my aunt and uncle and isn’t in a single family group shot. Sentimental I know, but there it is!

Would it be completely selfish of me to say I’d love to photograph Robbie Williams?!

  18. 17 November, 2010 / 9:40 am

I’d take a picture of my grandma. She’s in hospital currently after a fall. It was touch and go for a while but I’m pleased to say – at 94yrs old she’s become the star patient on her ward. I want as many memories of her as I can feast my eyes on. :)

I’d take a picture of Mario Testino so he could give me a few much needed pointers on how to take amazing pics of my family and friends

  20. 17 November, 2010 / 9:45 am

That’s a tough question, but after a bit of reflection I would have to say that I’m most like to take a group photo of me with my sisters and our mother. I was adopted out when I was just shy of 6 years old and she died in 1991. I didn’t meet my sisters, who were both born after my adoption, until after she died. There are photos of me as a child with our mum and of them with her – but none of all of us together. I know mum always thought of me because my sisters grew up ‘knowing’ they had a big sis out there somewhere. Anyway, it would be cool to have a photo of us as a family.

  21. Michelle
    17 November, 2010 / 9:47 am

I would take my Mum, daughters and I back in time to take a photo of my Nan, Mum and I with my 3 girls. My Nan passed away when my 2nd daughter was 1yr old so it would be great to have a photo of her with all of us.

    I have RT’d & am an email subscriber :)

I would have a photo taken of me and my hubby (with eyes open and looking half decent) as they are so few of them. I worry sometimes that there will be so few paper records of us together – note to self must get more photos taken.

  24. 17 November, 2010 / 9:51 am

I would take a picture of ALL my family together at one time. That’s never happened and I would love it to.

I would like to take a picture of my mum and me together. My mum died last year after a long battle with cancer & I stopped taking pictures because I feared that a picture to be “the last one” but now she has gone I realise I don’t have a photo of the two of us together since the 1980s!

I would have to say Robert Pattinson….. Yes I am obsessed…. However there is another reason, although I have never met him, in interviews he comes across as having a great sense of humour! I just think he would be really fun to take a photo of because the photo would look great and I think I would have a real laugh taking it!

How amazing would it be to go back in time and photograph George Eastman…the inventor of the Kodak camera that brought photography to the masses. Imagine how he would feel knowing that in 100 years, the humble Kodak camera would give rise to the digital age and all its amazing potential. Knowing this, I think his face would be an absolute picture…definitely worth preserving forever in a photo! x

I would take a picture of the Almighty man himself!
Just to prove that ‘he’ is infact a ‘she’.
A man would never be able to do all that has been said ‘he’ has done. Far to much multitasking involved.

Takes a lot to turn water into wine while answering a few prayers you know . :)

Lovely giveaway! I would take a picture of myself. I know that sounds bad. I initially thought, my foster mom (deceased). Then, I thought, my daughters. Then I sat for a while, ruminated and decided, it has to be me. This journey to becoming a strong single mama is a tough one, filled with massive potholes. I have lines becuase of it, and weight, and tear streaked cheeks. And I am learning to have a big, proud smile. A picture to reflect my hope, spirit and survival? Magic.

I would love to have been photographed with Elvis. He was and still is ”The King’ ,an iconic legend ,who influenced pratically every singer who came after him.He was photographed thousands of times, and it would have been a total thrill to be pictured with him.I have been to ‘Graceland’ and took lots of photos there -on his plane ,outside the house ,in the gardens etc,so I will have to contend with the fact I stood where he did,and saw what he saw.

  55. 18 November, 2010 / 6:21 pm

I would take a picture of Marilyn Monroe, would love to know if she really was as “dumb” as she was portrayed to be, or if she was just pretending to get what she wanted.

Yes its a weird one but it just came to my head!! I didn’t want to think of all the people that have passed away in my family that I would have loved for them to take a pic with me and my kids… its too painful.

I was going to say me with Ray Davies of the Kinks – he was my lust-after when I was a teen, and I have faithfully followed him ever since. The nearest I have been to him is three rows back in a theater. However, having seen other people’s “Pictures I Would Love To Take”, I now feel quite selfish.

I hope whoever get the camera manages to take some beautiful memories with it.

Love the story of the ‘pink camera’; I would take a photograph of you in a club toilet looking for it, which obviously cannot happen as it is past, but still, if I could take a photograph of anything, that would be it and we’d have the proof of your story. If I win, I’d also take a photograph of me with the pink camera (well not ‘the’ pink camera, you have that), but the new lovely one in my possession. Now I’m rambling. TGI Friday!

A bit corny, I guess, but I’d like to travel back in time and photograph my Nan. She suffered from Alzheimers and when I say ‘suffered’ I mean just that. An evil illness that robbed us of our Grandmother, Mother and ultimately a completely fabulous woman. As a teen you don’t really think about the future much and I really regret not spending more time with her… and having no photos of before she was really sick breaks my heart. I’d love to show my children the great granny they’ll never know.

    Just one photo….and a kiss.

I’d take a picture with my best friends being silly, to remember how am I now, and judge myself (to change back) later on if I ever change and become uptight and fun-less as I grow older, and it would remind me that my best friend should always be a priority to me even when I’m all grown up, with my family, career and other stuff to keep me occupied.
