What I wore on whatever day it was

I know there is a What I Wore Sunday or Wednesday or some day of the week, but quite frankly I’m just not organised enough to coordinate my wardrobe like that, and if you ask me to remember what day of the week it was when I wore a particular outfit then it’s just not going to happen.

I do have two new dresses to show you though, and in two different ways as it happens. They are both from my lovely new friends at Lily & Me, and honestly, I’m so happy I discovered them. What I particularly love about the clothes from Lily & Me is how easy they are to wear. All of their fabrics are deliciously soft, and they are designed and cut to be wonderfully flattering, so I’m not left feeling like a heffalump, which is always nice.

The first dress I want to show you is the Dee Brushed Dress in Winter Orchid. It’s £43.50, although you’ll see on their website that they offer 20% off when you follow them on Facebook, so that’s well worth doing. It has a cowl neck and slouch drop pockets, which I love. I’m a big fan of pockets in dresses and skirts.

I wore it recently to go to the theatre, and as we walked there, Belle spotted this fantastic bright blue painted wooden doorway. She clearly has an eye for Instagram. I was wearing the dress with my Cocoon Luxe cape and, to complete the theatre look, a hat I bought in a charity shop for £3 because I thought it made me look sassy.

I’m sure you’ll agree that Belle did very well, on a gloomy day, with my phone, especially as she had to stand in the middle of the road and watch for traffic at the same time.

To show you the next dress, I very cleverly wore it along to an event where I knew there would be a professional photographer, so I could oh so casually get some shots of me, in the dress, in action, so to speak. it was a cooking event, and so demonstrated the versatility of the dress – smart enough for a blogger event where I wanted to make a good impression, but comfy enough to take into a kitchen and on a factory tour.

This dress is the Emmalyn Gathered Dress in Winter Bud. It’s £48, (so £38.40 with 20% off), and is made from a viscose jersey. It has an almost silky softness to it, that makes it an absolute delight to wear. It’s gathered in the middle of the bust, and hangs really well over your tummy – no clinging to unsightly bulges here.

It has a nice deep V-shaped neck, so this would be the one of the two to pick if you wanted to get a bit of cleavage going on or show off a nice necklace. It’s definitely not revealing though – don’t worry that you’d need something underneath.

So there we go, that’s what I wore on whatever day it was that I went to a cooking event and the theatre.

Which is your favourite?

Thanks to Clifton Food/Purplex Marketing for the second lot of snaps, and to Lily & Me for sending me the dresses. All opinions my own, as always. Nobody else would want them.

Ah you look lovely Jo! Particularly loving those shots in front of the blue door. I must admit I’m quite looking forward to being able to wear dresses like this again once I don’t have to be confined to clothes I can easily breastfeed in!

I was always rubbish at remembering I was breastfeeding Molly! I’d be in a park, Belle would need a feed, and I’d realise I was in a dress…

What is it about loving pockets in dresses? is it because we’re mums? If I find a dress with pockets I’m almost GUARANTEED to buy it. These two look awesome on you x

Well, get yourself over to Lily & Me then! I think it’s the phone thing too. I like to have my phone handy for blue door photo moments!

You look lovely and well done to Belle for taking such good snaps. I’ve had to train my 9 year old Charlie to get quite handy with my iPhone if the need arises ;-)
