Last weekend Belle and I were in London and we went to see the musical version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. That wasn’t the only reason we were in London though and we actually ended up booking the tickets last minute on a great new app called TodayTix.
If you’re a West End fanatic or just like finding great discounts on shows for when you happen to be in London, TodayTix is a super handy app that makes booking theatre tickets online really straightforward. No more having to wait in queues or trying to find decent seats online. We decided to book tickets on the app for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Belle had been to see it before with school and loved it, and because not only do I like the story, but any chocolate themed musical sounds like a great time to me. TodayTix was really simple and intuitive, and the whole process took less than two minutes.
I think next time I’m in London I might book for us to go and see Wicked as they have tickets for under £20. One of the best parts about the app is that if you don’t have a particular show you want to see but more just fancy an outing, you can filter performances near you to show only ones under £25, for a great evening out every time without having to spend heaps on tickets!
TodayTix has lots of other simple yet really useful features, like a map to show you where you’re going, which was useful for me.

Belle was right about the show, I really did enjoy it. My favourite part was the sets – they were amazing! Really beautifully done and they bought the whole show to life. My favourite set was probably the glass elevator scene, which looked awesome, although the TV room would come a close second. The only thing that I thought could have been better would be if in the interval, they had sold Wonka bars instead of ice cream, I think they missed a trick there!
Belle loved it even more after seeing it a second time, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory currently stands as the “best thing she has ever seen”. High praise indeed from Belle who has actually seen a fair few shows in her time. I would definitely recommend going to see the show, and booking on TodayTix couldn’t be easier for a great value ticket deal!
