The one where I take a rollercoaster ride around a fridge with Boursin Sensorium + a recipe for Boursin and spinach puff pastry rounds

Here are two things I love:

  • Trying new things
  • Cheese

I was pretty much guaranteed to have a good time then when I visited the Boursin Sensorium at the Alexandra Palace Foodie Festival last weekend, to have a go on their Oculus Rift Boursin experience.

Boursin Sensorium

I’d not had a go on an Oculus Rift before, and wasn’t really sure what to expect. It’s the sort of technology that was the stuff of science fiction when I was a child, a young adult even, but it was incredible. I was taken on a ride through a fridge, past packets of Boursin of course, and various fresh fruits, vegetables and chutneys, and it was incredibly realistic (not that I have ever been inside a fridge) – I even had proper motion sickness! At the end I was emailed a video clip plus some photos of a teeny tiny me, surrounded by Boursin:

Boursin Sensorium

If you fancy having a go, the Boursin Sensorium will be at the following events. It’s definitely worth checking out:

  • 17th to 19th July : Foodies Festival – Tatton Park
  • 24th to 26th July : Foodies Festival – Clapham Common
  • 29th to 31st August : Foodies Festival – Oxford

Boursin and spinach puff pastry rolls

Inspired by my fridge fun times, and by my recent Boursin snacks , this week I experimented with some Boursin and a ready rolled sheet of puff pastry that I found in the fridge. I wanted a snack that would be super tasty, look impressive, but be dead easy to make.

After rummaging further in the fridge, I discovered a bag of spinach, and with this, the pastry, and a packet of Boursin, I had the ingredients for a delicious treat. All I did was smear Boursin all over the pastry sheet, top it with a big pile of spinach, roll it lengthways, like a swiss roll, and cut it into rounds. I cooked the rounds in a hot oven until the pastry looked golden brown, and tada!

I even inspired someone else that same evening on Twitter!

What’s your favourite way to enjoy Boursin?
