My favourite things – April 2015

OK, so it’s nearly May, but April has been a busy month, so sorry about that. We’ve been away, it has been my birthday, and something else has happened, something quite special, that I’m going to tell you about in a couple of weeks. Watch this space.

In the meantime, you’ll have to make do with hearing about some of my favourite products from this month. If you’ve discovered anything new and want to share then please do, I love an excuse to buy new treats.

Method cleaning products bramley toiletries Human + Kind Neal's Yard

I’m a total convert this month to method’s cleaning products, for several reasons. There are the environmental reasons obviously, but quite frankly those come fairly far down the list for me; I’m more excited by the fact that the washing liquid comes in a very cool squirty container that exactly measures out the dosage for you and that you can get refills. I love refills. They make me feel like a proper housewife, the sort that puts thought into her shopping lists. Also their wood polish smells of bakewell tarts. Honestly, it’s amazing – a quick rub down of the dining table and visitors will be convinced you’ve spent the whole day cleaning and baking.

Are you sick of bathroom shelves cluttered up with a million different products? Seriously, does anyone really need a different moisturiser for their feet and their elbows?? No, of course they don’t. Personally I like to have as little as possible in my washbag when I go away, so I’m loving the ethos behind Human+Kind – multi-purpose products that are also gentle and suitable for the whole family. Nice.

On a similar beauty related theme, I’ve got through a good half a jar of the Rosemary and Cedarwood hair treatment from Neal’s Yard Remedies this month. It’s a deep conditioner, that you’re meant to leave on for a minimum of half and hour, but I smear my hair with it just before bed and leave it in overnight. It smells gorgeous and at only £6.50 it’s actually dead cheap for Neal’s Yard, which means you can give it as a gift and look super generous.

And finally, in the spirit of all things essential oils, I’ve developed a crush on the shampoo and conditioner from Bramley. They smell awesome, and I’ve been daydreaming about them ever since using the range at the Harptree tree house. I’ve not got round to buying any for myself yet, but it’s definitely going to be going on my Christmas list as I can’t stop thinking about it.

What are your favourite things at the moment?

I was sent some products from Method and Human Kind to review for the purposes of this post. All thoughts are my own.
