I have no sense of style.
Actually it’s not much of a secret.
As boyfriend said you me recently, looking a little bit afraid in case I hit him, “For quite a lot of the time I have known you you have dressed quite badly.”
He’s such a charmer.
He is right though. I really just have no concept of what looks super stylish and what looks like I have been dressed by a blind tramp. Getting asked by the team at Secret Sales then to style a couple of models in the latest trends was a bit of a challenge to say the least. I was literally given rails of clothes and two beautiful, (if not slightly stick thin), people to hang them on.
Where to begin? Does lace go with leather? Could red and pink together be considered a ‘statement’? I had no idea.
The idea behind the event though was not to inspire any sort of self-thigh-loathing though, but to find out more about how Secret Sales works. Secret Sales want not just to be somewhere you can go for designer clothes, accessories, beauty and homeware and absolute bargain prices, but also a source of interesting information through their blog, The Secret.
Do you know for example the three colours your wardrobe needs right now? Of course you don’t, (well I don’t anyway), but if I read The Secret I can at least pretend to have my finger on the pulse. “Oh yes,” I will say, casually glancing down at my lurid pink leg-warmers, “I am all about the neon this season.”
