What I Wore Wednesday

This week I am trying my hand at a meme. I’m a bit rubbish at Getting Involved as a blogger, and have been feeling I need to make more of an effort to get into the spirit of things. Transatlantic Blonde is a bit of a favourite of mine, so she seemed like a good place to start.

Transatlantic Blonde hosts a weekly meme called What I Wore Wednesday, which is really just an excuse to have a nose at what other bloggers are wearing and say things to yourself like ‘Oooh, I really like what she’s done with that scarf!’ or, if you are less generous, ‘she probably should keep away from horizontal stripes’, (see my dress below).

As with all good memes, there is a badge.

See?

So, intro over.

This week I went to meet a potential new client. I wanted to look smart, yet approachable, professional, yet friendly. I had read somewhere that ‘oceanic’ was a current trend, so in lieu of a mermaid’s tail, I went for a blue and white dress. Nautical and oceanic – close enough right?

What I wore Wednesay

Professional yet down to earth??

I really like this dress because it is so comfy and easy to wear, yet still looks smart enough for work, meetings or other formal occassions.

Dress – Kaleidoscope
Tights – random basket in my bedroom
Shoes – New Look
Pretty earrings – Accessorize

Belle on the other hand, has this week been rocking her new bejazzled hoodie, courtesy of Baby Bling.

Yo! And other such suitably rocky expressions

I can’t help but feel she pulls her outfit off with a little more confidence than me.

Oooh love the dress, yep professional yet approachable, friendly and smart. I think you ticked all the boxes there :-)

Thanks all for the reassurance! I’m never really sure, as Bee will quite often say unhelpful things just as I’m leaving the house like ‘so you’re going out in THAT are you?’ :-)

I would wear that dress (if only I had a meeting to go to)

  4. That dress really suits you. Nice outfit.

  5. Lovely dress, love the panelling in the middle. Very smart :)

Ooh, I love nosing at what people are wearing. That is a particularly lush dress, but then I always think you manage to full off ‘stylish yet approachable’ very well.

  7. The criss cross stripes in the middle are super flattering and everyone knows that everything is better bedazzled :)

  8. Love the dress! Gives you a gorgeous shape!

  11. [...] Stripes and Nautical Military-inspired pieces ruled the runways in the autumn and winter season, but now it’s time to take your style out to sea. Consider buying a blouse in one of this season’s hottest hues—navy—and combining it with a pair of cropped white jeans to create a seafaring look; alternatively, you could go for a classic black and white striped dress with a belted waist that sits above the knee. (I was well ahead on this one.) [...]
