My coffee science experiment

Today I accidentally created a science experiement. It cuaght me unawares, but I have recreated it for you here, so you can be impressed.

Sometimes when I make coffee I like to heat up an inch of milk first, and then add the coffee and hot water. Today I thought I’d go nuts* and make my own mocha, by heating up a bit of chocolate milk instead.

My ingredients were Kenco Millicano instant coffee sachets and Kara dairy free chocolate coconut milk:

Here’s what happened next…

Once it (and I) had calmed down and I’d given the sides a bit of a wipe, I topped it up with boling water and it was very tasty.

*I’m mad I am! *jazz hands*

If I liked coffee I would try. It does upset me that I don’t like coffee, especially Mocha – what’s not to like? When I was little I spat a cup of coffee all over a swan, very proud moment :)

*snorts coffee out of nose* – that is hilarious, what a fantastic quote! Was it something personal against that swan or just an accident? I actually like coffee a lot less than I would like to, and didn’t drink it at all until I was quite old.

And thats why you never hold something in your hand and stir when you take it out the microwave – there is a reason why it does this, all to do with hot and cold spots due to the way microwaves work – boring I know, I’ll shut up, I’ve never had it happen though in years of trying, so very jelous now lol!!!

Oh really? I didn’t know that about the not holding things in your hand – I am a bit silly about some things though. I knew microwaves made hot and cold spots, which is why you’re not meant to do thing like heat baby milk in them, but I didn’t know it meant you could make your own coffee volcano :-)

Woooop check that out!! I clearly have a sieve like memory because I wondered why your milk was brown when you first filmed – musta been too excited to see what happened to read the work chocolate x

It WAS exciting Sky, so that’s quite understandable.

Clearly I am going to have to try this myself…

The first time I did it as a fluke, the second time I tried, with the video, and nothing happened – the secret seemed to be getting the milk really hot. Try it…

Sounds good except for the coconut milk part – smell of it makes me want to vom!

It doesn’t actually taste very coconutty at all, and in the coffee you really couldn’t taste it. The non-chocolate version you can have in tea and not taste the coconut – very odd!

That shit is going to go viral !
