Stylish blogger award – seven things you never knew about me

This week, I was presented, crowned, if you will, with this Stylish Blogger Award:

Yes, that IS it, and no, you’re right, it is less of an award and more of a small picture, but still, I take praise wherever I can find it.

It was given to me by the oh-so-stylish and achingly funny Emma of Cocktails at Naptime and Mommy Has A Headache fame, and involves a rather complicated set of instructions, which I will attempt to follow here.

Firstly, I have to acknowledge the lovely lady who gave me the award, ideally with some sort of elaborate compliment. Done. Then I have to tell you seven interesting things about myself. Right. Now, as you probably don’t remember, I tried this a while ago and failed spectacularly. Turns out I’m boring. Who’d have thought it? In fact, looking back, I see I actually tagged Mommy Has A Headache at the time, so maybe this is all just an act of revenge.

Anyway, here goes, seven things I guarantee you never knew about me:

When I was 15, I tried to climb over the fence to get into Glastonbury Festival, but got stuck at the top and had to be rescued by security guards.

My earliest childhood memory is from when I was three and in the garden at playgroup. A large blackbird landed on my head and started pecking at my left ear and I wet myself in fright.

All my food cupboards are arranged in sell-by-date order. When I go shopping I have to move the older stuff to the front and put the newer stuff at the back, like on a supermarket shelf.

When I was 11 I was a guest on This Morning as part of a school choir. Afterwards Richard Madeley shook my hand and told me he liked my tartan alice band.

I am an only child. When I was younger, I would spend hours playing games of scrabble with my imaginary friends, and then throw tantrums when they got better words than me.

I have a crush on Cliff Richard.

I was born in the middle of a thunder storm, and to this day if I go outside and it is thundering I feel a tightening around my head.

There you go, I bet you didn’t know ANY of those did you? Of course you didn’t, because I made them all up.

Now, for my final trick, I have to tag 15 other stylish bloggers to (more truthfully) do the same as me. 15?? I barely even know 15 people. I certainly don’t read 15 other blogs. (Did I say that out loud? Hush… don’t tell anyone). So to mix things up a bit and make some new friends I’ve decided to randomly tag the first 15 bloggers to appear in my twitter stream, whoever they may be. Then I can talk to them – ‘er… you don’t know me but…’ and they will read my blog and become life long friends. A foolproof plan. Except that if they are in my stream I may actually know them already of course.

So here they are, my stylish-soon-to-be-if-not-already-buddies: Mediocre Mum, A Note From LaplandPhD in Parenting, Cafe Bebe, Very Bored in Catalunya, Crystal Jigsaw, Tiddlyompompom, Snaffles Mummy, Second Time Mummy, Living With Kids,  Betty Herbert, New Mummy, Mums the Boss, Mocha Beanie Mummy, Me the Man and the Baby

    omg absolutely priceless!

Richard Madeley – he was so odd wasn’t he, kind of likeable but always put his foot in it when interviewing – I wonder if he got the gig through Judy?

I have a crush on Cliff Richard.

I take it you have the calendar? Well he is still single so maybe you two could get it together?? I’ve got it, interview him for a mag, then conduct the interview at an intimate restaurant!

I was almost convinced at the Glastonbury fence bit but you’d never remember anything from when you were 3.

I was actually born in a thunderstorm though-you must’ve subconsciously stolen one of my 7 facts.
